March Movie Madness

Greetings fellow Film Buffs!!!

The month of February produced some great films, However, no big blockbusters had any great following or excitement. It was a month filled with some film releases of good movies but nothing to draw a big attention to certain films. The month of March, that does not seem to be the case at all. All throughout this upcoming month highly anticipated movies will be released almost every weekend. Its a month filled with an overwhelming amount of films that will be a must see hit.

The first weekend of March four films are set to release to start off the month. The four films are all so very different genres and unique in their own way. The movies that will be released are Jack the Giant Slayer, 21 and Over, The Last Exorcism Part 2, and Phantom.

Jack the Giant Slayer which is anticipated to be the top box office hit this weekend portrays a story that we have not seen on the big screen in quite some time. This movie is based on Jack and the beanstalk fairy tales and is a fantasy adventure film. Nicholas Hoult, Stanley Tucci, and Ewan McGregor star in this feature film. It tells the story of Jack (Hoult) a young farmhand, who must rescue a princess from a race of giants after unknowingly opening up a gateway to their world. This movie has had a lot of promotion in hopes of a fantastic opening weekend.

From the makers of The Hangover comes a American teen comedy 21 and Over. It portrays a straight A student and his two friends that take him out for his 21st birthday on the night before his important medical school interview. It was only suppose to be a quick outing of a drink or two, but as the night progresses it shows the boys getting themselves into all kinds of humiliation and hilarity.

These films are sure to be great hits, make sure you check them out!!!

Happy March!!!

Valentines Day Blockbusters

Valentines day is for lovers, it is also a day for bitter, heartbroken people who hate those valentines day lovers. Whichever category you fall under its almost impossible to ignore the appeal and commercialism that valentines day seems to put forth. On this day it is all about showing the person you care for how much they mean to you. Whether you go out to dinner and spend a ridiculous amount of money or you share some quality time with your significant other, the possibilities are endless.

The movie industry has seemed to hop on this bandwagon and focus around this holiday with some movies that will make that day all the more better. Or perhaps to remind those who are alone that they are well alone.. They see this season as an opportunity to target those who are without a significant other and try to warm their hearts with a romantic hit. For the past couple of years a Nicholas Sparks movie has been adapted to the big screen just in time for the season. He is known to write novels that have been huge hits with women. In the past one that has been known as a Valentines day must see each year is The Notebook. Just in time for this Valentines day season another one of his novels are coming to the big screen, Safe Haven. However, this new romantic movie has a bit of darkness to it making it a thriller. It stars two well known actors making the need to see it even greater. For myself, Im a sucker for a good romantic movie and I cant wait to check it out.

If your alone or going out with someone who means a lot, going to the movies is one of the most entertaining ways to spend your Valentines Day. So make sure to either rent a classic Valentines Day movie or be sure to check out Safe Haven now in theaters.
Happy Valentines Day!

Award Season is upon us..

Its that time of the year again that all of us movie buffs live for,We are in the midst of the movie industries biggest events that happen each year.  Where movies that are voted upon are rewarded in categories that have been nominated for their cinematic achievements. The Golden Globes, Screen Actors Guild, and the BAFTAS have all come and gone, the next show that to some may be the biggest is the Oscars. All have academies that represent each show that is celebrated in a formal event. The award shows are televised live and shown in all forms of media.

Best Picture is considered the most important of all of the awards. Because it represents all the directing, music, acting, writing and editing that have all been put forth to make that movie what it is. With this being said these formal events are all perfect opportunities for those nominated for best picture to receive some added attention to those films and help boost their box office winnings. Argo has taken the title for all of the shows thus far in 2013 and things are looking very promising for the Oscars. We shall just wait and see how things turn out on Feb 23rd.

Award shows are perfect opportunities for artist, designers, and anyone in the industry to make a name for themselves. Using all forms of social media, as a way of boosting and drawing interest, social media has been helping with reviving the telecast of these shows. Certain techniques have been used but incorporating hashtags has been proven to boost tracking of watchers and promoting themselves at the same time. As for social media things are only starting to heat up, so we can expect new and exciting developments in years to come to keep alive the social media bug.

Be sure to tune into the Oscars and see what shall unfold and what types of media are being used.
