The OZ the Great & Powerful

Over 70 years ago, one of the best known films of the American popular culture was released The Wizard of Oz. This American Fantasy adventure film was produced by Metro Goldwyn Mayer based off the 1900 novel The Wondeful Wizard of Oz. This film known for its shooting in black and white was also technicolor. Although this film received lots of wonderful reviews it shockingly failed to deliver at the box office.

The Wizard of Oz was a alluring tale of a young kansas girl (Judy Garland) that lives with her Aunt and Uncle and other family that are too busy to pay any attention to her. These relatives tell her to go find some place where she won't get into any trouble causing her to sing "Over the rainbow". After wandering off trying to find a dog Dorothy gets caught in a hurricane that she suffers a hit to the head and falls unconsciene. Dorothy and Todo enter a world of technicolor name OZ, during her journey she meets the good witch (Glinda) and three friends along the way, that are all on there way to the Great Wizard of Oz to grant them one wish. After much troubles along the way including defeating the wicked witch of the west they finally stumble upon Emerald City where they learn the wizard is no great oz just a phony. BE SURE TO RENT THIS CLASSIC FOR IT IS A MUST SEE!

Disney decided to relive the magic that was the Wizard of Oz renaming it OZ THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. This new film stars James Franco, Michelle Williams, Mila Kunis, and Rachael Weisz. In this feature it shows Oz a small time circus magician uplifted from his roots in kansas and thrusted upon the vibrant land of Oz. He must put forth his talents and become the GREAT AND POWERFUL WIZARD they have been waiting for. Make sure you check this one out in theaters to catch who the real wicked witch is!!! It was a definite surprise for me!
